This race gives you the best Trondheim has to offer!
There aren't many places where you can start in the city and then after running a few kilometers feel far away from civilization.
With distances of 80 km, 50 km, 33 km, 22 km and 11 km, both experienced runners and beginners can join the city's very first off-road ultra-race.
It gives you the best Trondheim has to offer. From urban areas to forests, mountain feeling, fantastic views and fjord breeze. Common finish at Havet Arena.
With several distances to choose from, it's easy to find a challenge that suits you – whether you want to try something new or go all-in on ultra-distance.
Ecotrail is not just about running, but also about environmental awareness.
– Being concerned about the environment does not mean that we should stop having fun. We just have to go through all the steps and make the event sustainable. The fitness running industry is still conservative, with polyester participant shirts, cups in the streets and medals with nylon straps that end up in the garbage, says CEO of Ecotrail Norway, Marit Karlsen, and adds:
– The non-traditional medals in Ecotrail Norway are made around the theme of urban pollination. Everyone gets, among other things, our own designed seed bag and an organic finisher net that can be used in everyday life. I hope everyone sows the seeds, then it will be a germinating, edible, beautiful and bee-friendly medal.
The Ecotrail concept started in Paris in 2007 and came to Oslo in 2015, where it has quickly grown to become Norway's largest ultra-marathon. Last year, a total of 3,800 runners participated in Ecotrail Oslo.
On August 22nd you can join the very first edition of Ecotrail Trondheim!
